GFA Launches Website with New Alumni Newsletter

This past May, GFA launched a new website with an exciting new look and increased functionality. Dragon Tales is an alumni newsletter created as part of the new site to send monthly updates to alumni about upcoming events and GFA and alumni news.

The new website gives us the ability to deliver news and images more quickly to alumni and hopefully will help you stay connected to your alma mater. Pictures and news are open to all, but class notes, the directory and career network are access-restricted for your protection.

GFA goes Off-Off-Broadway

ONES BY 2 -
a theatre piece directed by GFA theatre teacher Stephen Stout, will be performed by current and former GFA students at the 2009 New York City International Fringe Festival. It is two short award-winning one-act plays written by former students Rebecca McCarthy '08 and Deepali Gupta '08. The dates of the festival are August 17-21 and all the specifics are available at www.onesby2.com.  Funny, touching, prescient and soulful, these two plays showcase our students in an exciting way and put them in the spotlight in New York City in a respected international festival of 200 plays!

A crew from NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams was at GFA on Monday, July 20th, to tape a segment about the Horizons program. Correspondent Rehema Ellis interviewed Horizons students and teachers in an effort to capture what makes the program such a success.

GFA Global

"GFA Global" is an umbrella for the many initiatives that help members of the GFA community learn about and have a positive impact on the wider world. This program encompasses everything from international art exchanges, study and travel abroad, visiting speakers and performers to international social activism and community service.

This summer GFA Upper School students traveled to Puerto Rico, Ireland, China and Seville as part of the GFA Global trips program.  These trips were coordinated by GFA faculty members who are dedicated to guiding GFA students toward greater global awareness, cultural sensitivity and the ability to adapt to our rapidly changing world.
