Jill has been an active participant in the GFA community since her daughters Natalie ('06) and Anna ('09) began attending GFA in 1998. She is a former member of the Builders Beyond Borders Board of Directors and is a former Charter Oak Foundation mentor. Jill has a BS in Education from the State University of New York at Oneonta and an MBA in Finance from New York University Graduate School of Business Administration. Prior to becoming a full-time mother, Jill worked for several years in the investment field with positions at the New York City Comptroller's Office and Forstmann-Leff Associates. She lives in Southport with her husband, Laszlo.
Stephen Lawrence, P '10, '20 Co-Chair/Co-President, Board of Trustees Board member since 2007 Committees: Building & Grounds (Co-Chair), Executive (Co-Chair), Finance
Steve is president of Investment Capital Partners, Ltd., a commercial real estate investment and management firm in Southport. He is a graduate of Yale University (B.A. '65) and The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania (M.B.A. '71). He retired from the United States Marine Corps as a captain in 1970. He and his wife Lisa serve on the board of the Jeffrey Modell Foundation, which focuses on awareness and treatment of primary immune deficiency diseases. Two of Steve's sons attended GFA in the 1980s, and his stepson Michael graduated in 2010. His son Owen currently attends. Steve and his family live in Southport.

Michael is President of Galaxy Partners Corp, a private investment firm based in New York City. He previously served as President of Novix Media; President/COO of Hachette Productions; and Co-Founder/President of George Magazine. A graduate of The Lawrenceville School, he holds a BA from Lafayette College. He also serves as a Trustee of Project ALS. A GFA parent since 2006, Michael and his wife Victoria live in Fairfield with their two sons.
Tricia Vanacore, P '13, '14, '16, '19 Co-Vice Chair/Co-Vice President, Board of Trustees Board member since 2007 Committees: Coyle Scholar (Co-Chair), Advancement (Tri-Chair), Marketing, Executive (Co-Vice Chair)
Tricia graduated from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in Economics. She worked for 10 years in sales and marketing management for high-tech firms. Her involvement in the GFA volunteer community has included co-chairing Grandparents' Day and the Book Fair and serving as a class parent. She also serves on the Board of Trustees for The Children's School, where she co-chaired its capital campaign. Tricia lives in Darien with her husband, Mark, and their four children.

Roger is currently co-president and Treasurer of TICO (Tarika Investment Company) managing private investments. Previously he was Vice-President of development at DPS Development LLC, a developer of high-end, environmentally sensitive sporting clubs throughout the United States. Prior to that he worked for 17 years at Morgan Stanley & Co. primarily as Managing Director responsible for Foreign Exchange trading and sales in Europe. Roger and his wife Beverley live in Fairfield with their four children.
Kara Bohnsack, P '20, '21 Co-Secretary, Board of Trustees Board Member since 2009 Committees: Committee on Trustees, Educational Policy, Executive (Co-Secretary), Marketing
Kara worked for ten years in marketing in both the financial services and entertainment industries and then retired to become a full-time mother. She is a graduate of Wesleyan University and has an MBA from the Harvard Business School. At GFA, Kara has served as a class parent, Annual Giving Class Captain and a member of the Educational Policy Committee. Kara and her husband Bill live in Darien and have three children.

Since becoming a member of the GFA community in 1998, Moira has volunteered for an array of activities, serving as a class parent, Co-Chair of the Cookman Garden and Treasurer of the Parents' Association. Moira is a graduate of Cornell University, where she serves on the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art Advisory Council. She received an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Before becoming an at-home mother, she worked on Madison Avenue for 11 years, primarily in corporate image advertising. Moira and her husband Mark are parents of Matt and Mikey and live in Fairfield.
Roberta Conroy, P '06, '09, '11 Board member since 2004 Committees: Building & Grounds, Committee on Trustees, Advancement (Tri-Chair)
Roberta has been active in the GFA community since 1998, serving as vice president of the Parents' Association, and then president for 2003-04. She served as PA Sports Liaison from 2004-2010 and has been a room parent several times. In addition she and her husband Jim serve on the Horizons at GFA Board of Trustees. She has been involved in many volunteer organizations, including Habitat for Humanity and St. Timothy's Episcopal Church. Roberta earned a BA from Salem College and is a graphic artist. She and her husband, Jim, live in Fairfield. They have four sons.
Vincent D'Agostino, P '03, '07, '09 Board member since 2008 Committees: Advance Plan, Finance, Marketing
Vince is President and Chief Financial officer of Brilig, an open marketplace where online advertising audiences are created, analyzed, bought and sold under the supervision of Brilig's audience commerce platform. Vince has almost 30 years of digital/direct marketing, general management and operations experience. Prior to joining Brilig, he co-founded Webloyalty, the leading provider of online membership subscription programs. Prior to 1999, he was president of Benefit Consultants, Inc., a large insurance direct marketer. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and went on to earn an MBA from Harvard University. Vince serves on the personnel committee at Homes with Hope, a local homeless shelter and on the Greens Farms Church Outreach committee. He and his wife Nicky live in Westport.
Roger Ferris, P '18 Board member since 2010 Committees: Building & Grounds
Roger is an architect and founding principal of Roger Ferris + Partners where he directs the design and master planning work of the firm. He is a graduate and former Loeb Fellow in Advanced Environmental Design of Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. Roger currently serves on the boards of the Centre Pompidou Foundation and the Watermill Center for the Performing Arts where he is also a member of the executive committee. He resides in Weston with his wife Wendy and their four children.
Shelley Goldsmith, P '15, '17 Board member since 2010 Committees: Advance Plan, Educational Policy
Shelley worked as a second and fourth grade teacher for 15 years, most recently at Princeton Day School and prior to that at The Spence School in New York. She is a graduate of the University of Vermont and has an MA in Secondary Education from Teachers College at Columbia University. Shelley and her family moved to Darien in 2008 and have two children at GFA. In addition to working on the board at GFA, Shelley is serving a concurrent term on the Board of Trustees of Princeton Day School.
Michael Greenberg, P '19, 21 Board member since 2011 Committees: Advancement, EPC
Mike Greenberg is the host of MIKE AND MIKE IN THE MORNING on ESPN Radio and ESPN2, the highest rated sports talk show in the United States. He was also the host of DUEL on the ABC Television Network, and he is the author of two New York Times best sellers.
Mike joined ESPN in September 1996 as an anchor for ESPNEWS, ESPN's 24-hour sports news network, which launched in November of that year. He was named co-host of The Morning Show on ESPN Radio in December 1999, and continues his anchor role for the 6pm ESPN SportsCenter.
Mike is a graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. He lives in Westport with his wife Stacy and their two children.
Lori Hashizume, P '08 Board member since 2007 Committees: Advance Plan, Committee on Trustees (Chair), Diversity, Head Evaluation
Lori, mother of Andrew Fried ('08), served two years on the GFA Parents' Association Executive Board and is active on GFA's Diversity Forum. After earning a B.A. in Economics from the University of Hawaii and a Master of Applied Economics from the University of Michigan, she worked as a public policy consultant in Washington, D. C., and as a staffer for the New York City Public Development Corporation. Lori was the first executive director of a nonprofit affordable housing fund in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and now volunteers for many organizations, including Mercy Learning Center in Bridgeport. Lori and her husband, Doug Fried, live in Southport.
Terence Hogan, P '16, '19 Board Member since 2008 Committees: Finance, Investment
Terry is managing member of Addison Clark Management, a Westport investment firm. Prior to founding Addison Clark, he was a partner at JH Whitney & Co. Earlier, he co-managed The Acorn Fund and started his professional career at Harris Associates in Chicago. Terry received his B.A. from Knox College and an M.B.A. from Cornell University's Johnson School. He served on Knox's Board of Trustees from 2002 to 2007. Terry lives in Westport with his wife, Mary-Jane, and their children.
Richard Holzinger, P '14, '18, '19 Board member since 2010 Committees: Educational Policy, Investment
Rick has been an active member of the GFA community, serving as a Class Captain on the Annual Giving Campaign and as middle school Tri-Chair for the campaign for the '09/'10 school year. Rick is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is a Board member of CIFG, a bond guarantor, serving on the Compensation and Risk Committees. Prior to FTI, he ran the Corporate Finance group at Financial Security Assurance, where he served on the Company’s Management and Operating Committees. Rick and his family lived in Hong Kong and Singapore for 12 years. He received a B.A. from Harvard University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from University of Texas School of Law at Austin, with honors, and is a member of the American Bar Association. Rick lives in Norwalk with his wife, Sally, and their three children.
Brian Lizotte Board member since 2010 Committees: Educational Policy, Finance
Brian is Associate Provost at Yale University, where he jointly oversees the 25 Humanities departments and programs of the Faculty of Arts & Sciences as well as the Whitney Humanities Center, and individually oversees all foreign language instruction at the University. As Associate Provost, he is responsible for creating and implementing academic policy, allocating resources, setting budgets, and hiring and reviewing all faculty in his units. He is the youngest Provost in Yale’s history. Brian earned a J.D. from Yale Law School, an Ed.M. from Boston University, and B.A. and M.S. degrees in Psychology from Yale College, where he won Yale’s Alpheus Henry Snow Prize, the highest prize awarded by the University, given for “inspiring in his classmates an admiration and love for the best traditions of high scholarship.” Brian previously worked as an attorney in Yale’s Office of the Vice President and General Counsel and previously at a national law firm, specializing in contracts, corporate and bankruptcy law. He has also taught mathematics and psychology at the Groton School in Massachusetts. Brian has published in the field of law and economics. He serves on the Board of Directors of The Animal Haven, a shelter and adoption agency serving Greater New Haven. Brian and his wife, Lee, are proud parents of a son, Blake, and their middle-aged pug, Nacho.
Martha Gates Lord, Ed. D., ’74, P’04, ‘06 Board Member from 1986 to 1997 and since 2009 Committees: Advancement, Investment Alumni Association, Chair 1984-1986
Martha is the founding principal of Lord, Gates, & Associates, a consulting firm specializing in leadership effectiveness. Most recently, Martha was the Interim Head of School at The Country School, Madison, CT and Head of School at Lowcountry Preparatory School, Pawleys Island, SC. Prior to these positions, she served as Associate Head, CFO, and Director of Technology at GFA. In addition, she spent the first half of her professional career as a banker responsible for commercial and real estate lending and credit administration. Martha has a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University, a M.S. in Financial Management from Fairfield University, and a Doctor of Education from California Coast University. Martha was recognized as a GFA Distinguished Alumna in 2005. She and her husband Don live in Fairfield.
Molly McGrath, P '11, '13, '17 Board member since 2010 Committees: Advancement, Marketing
A Seattle native, Molly moved to Manhattan after college to pursue a career in sales and marketing. Following career experiences at Xerox Corporation and Conde Nast, Molly retired to focus on family life in Connecticut.
Last year, Molly served as Co-President of the Parents Association and has been active in school affairs as Tri-Chair of Annual Giving and a class parent. Before her children attended GFA, Molly served on the Executive Board of Greens Farms Elementary School for two years. She attended the University of Washington and has a B.A. in Political Science. Molly and her husband David live in Fairfield and their three daughters attend GFA.
Frank Mori, P '16 Board member since 2011 Committees: Building & Grounds, Advancement
Frank graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College and earned an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. He began his career in consumer packaged goods. He bought his first company in 1974 and through 2002 his career was based principally in women's apparel as an owner and CEO of such companies as Anne Klein and Co. and Donna Karan Intl. Since retiring from the apparel industry, Frank started a real estate development business and served on such corporate boards as Donna Karan, Intl. and Stride-Rite Shoe. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Dillard's Department Stores and Takihyo, Inc.
Prior to moving to Westport, he and his daughter Maggie resided in Manhattan, where Maggie attended grades K-6 at The Chapin School. For the past 7 years, and continuing, he has been a member of Chapin's Board of Trustees, serving as a member of the Executive Committee, Co-Chair of The Committee on Trustees, Co-Chair of Building & Grounds, and Co-Chair of Chapin's recently completed major capital campaign.
Frank and Maggie live in Westport, where his two grown children and their families also live.
David Murphy, P '20, '21 Board Member since 2009 Committees: Advancement, Investment
In 2002, David founded Saugatuck Energy, an Investment Advisor with offices in Southport. Previously, he worked with energy trading companies Phibro and Vitol. David is a graduate of the Brunswick School and Colgate University. David has two children at GFA and lives in Westport.
Amer Nimr, P '08, '10, '13 Board Member since 2009 Committees: Building & Grounds, Coyle Scholar
Amer is the Managing Director of Seabridge Capital, a wealth management company located in Southport. He worked for many years at Citibank both here and abroad in Private Banking, Global Finance, Financial Institutions and Transaction Services. He has also worked at the Arab Jordan Investment Bank and Shearson Lehman Hutton International. He has undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business Administration and International Finance from George Washington University. He and his wife Kristen have three sons and live in Southport.
Jeff Nixon, P '14, '16, '19 Board Member since 2009 Committees: Advancement, Finance
Jeff founded Interactive Capital Partners in 1997, a technology investment bank and venture capital group primarily focused on building new internet media and advertising companies. ICP also works in Clean Tech alternative energy and nanomaterials. Jeff is a graduate of Colgate University and Boston University School of Law. Jeff is an avid sailor and a Founding Board member of the non-profit 12 metre Yacht Development Foundation in Greenwich, which raises money for charities and schools. Jeff and his wife Wendy have three daughters and live in Rowayton.
Sherron Velez, P '10, '13 Board Member since 2008 Committees: Educational Policy, Diversity
Sherron's two sons came to GFA from Brookside Elementary School in Norwalk, where Sherron herself started out volunteering in the boys' classrooms. She so impressed the administration that she was asked to be an instructional aide at the school, a position she enjoyed immensely until a diagnosis of multiple myeloma (blood cancer) forced her to quit and fight for her life. Sherron underwent a stem-cell transplant that has helped her into remission and given her the strength to again participate in her boys' academic life here at GFA. She credits the support that she and her family received from the GFA community that first year the boys came here with helping her get through her treatment and is delighted to have the opportunity to serve the school community.
Honorary Trustees
James P. Bradley, P '85, '88, '90, '90 '93 Board Member 1974-1996
Jim served on GFA's Board of Trustees from 1974 until 1996 in a variety of capacities: treasurer (1976-1980); vice chairman and treasurer (1980-1987); vice chairman (1987-1992); and board chair (1992-1996). In recognition of his longstanding service to GFA, Jim was honored with the Lucie B. Warren Award in 1996 and was named an Honorary Trustee in the fall of that year. Jim studied at the University of Bridgeport and St. John's University Law School. He is the former president of THP Group of Trumbull and former president of the Fairfield Dock Company. Two of Jim's children and three of his stepchildren attended GFA.
Jonathan T. Dawson, P '90, '91 Board member 1983-1989 and 1997-2002
Jon, the chair and CEO of Dawson-Herman Capital Management in Southport, is a graduate of Princeton University (AB, 1966), Stanford University (MBA, 1968) and Fordham University (JD, 1974). He has served on the boards of the Pequot Library, the New Hampshire Audubon Society and the Deering Foundation. Jon's daughter Alexandra graduated from GFA in 1991 and his son Christopher attended from 1980 to 1987.
Anne J. C. Goldenheim, P '99, '00, '03, '06 Board member 1996-2006
Anne Goldenheim is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College (A.B. ’73), Harvard Graduate School of Education (Ed.M. ’74), and Columbia School of Library Service (M.S.’92) and pursued a career in educational testing for many years. She was a member of the Greens Farms Academy community for 13 years as a parent of four graduates (David ’99, Catherine ’00, William ’03, and Julia ’06) and was active in many aspects of school life. She served in the Parents Association as secretary and coordinator of library volunteers, among other responsibilities. She was a long-term member of the board of Horizons at GFA and served on GFA’s Board of Trustees for 10 years (1996-2006), four of them as secretary and five as board chair. She chaired the search committee that identified Peter Esty as Head of School and served on the search committee that identified Janet Hartwell as the current Head. While at GFA, she was also deeply involved with the Norwalk Youth Symphony, serving on that board for many years, three as chair. She now lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with her husband, Paul.
Edwin H. Morgens, P '97 Board member 1987-1999
Ned is the chairman of Morgens, Waterfall, Vintiadis and Company of New York. A graduate of Cornell University (B.A., 1963) and Harvard (M.B.A., 1967), Ned was a GFA Trustee from 1987 to 1999 and also served as vice chair of the board. He was named an Honorary Trustee in 1999. His volunteer activities include membership on several non-profit boards. His daughter, Lauren, graduated from GFA in 1997.
Henry Von Kohorn, P '93, ‘96 Board member 1985-1992, 1996-2001 and 2003-2009
Henry is president of Von Kohorn & Associates, Inc., a real estate investment firm in Westport. He graduated from Princeton, earned an M.B.A. from Columbia (MBA, 1968) and served as a first lieutenant in the U. S. Army. Henry, a former GFA board chair, serves as chairman of the Princeton Prize in Race Relations, a new program sponsored by Princeton University. Henry's children, Isabelle and Emily, attended GFA, graduating in 1993 and 1996, respectively. He and his wife Meredith live in Westport.
Lucie B. Warren, P '59, GP '77, '78, '89, GGP '16 Board member 1958-1969
Lucie served on GFA's Board of Trustees from 1958 to 1969 and again from 1971 to 1975. One of her daughters (Lynn Cunningham Maddock '59), four of her granddaughters (Lucie B. McKinney '76, Jean McKinney Salcedo '77, Libby McKinney Tritschler '78 and Paige Cunningham '82) and now a great-granddaughter (Ali Tritschler '16) are part of the GFA community, as are other members of her extended family. She and her first husband Briggs Cunningham played a decisive role in securing the future of the School, donating most of the purchase price to buy the beautiful Vanderbilt mansion. Lucie and her second husband, Lynne Warren, were strong partners in the developing the School's goals and objectives. Mrs. Warren, a graduate of Smith College, has been active in community affairs and notable for her involvement with Norwalk Hospital. She was named an Honorary Trustee in 1976. |
