Horizons at GFA is entirely self-funded, deriving 100% of its revenue from charitable giving by individuals, foundations, family trusts, community organizations, and corporations. Horizons, as a program of Greens Farms Academy, operates under the 501(c)3 status of the school. Horizons at GFA neither solicits nor receives public funding. Our cost per student is approximately $4,000 per year. Students attend the program on a "virtual scholarship," paying a nominal registration fee.
To reach our fundraising goals, Horizons at GFA holds three major events each year: a traditional annual appeal, a June golf and tennis tournament, The Horizons Open, held at The Country Club of Fairfield, and a dinner celebration of our

students in the Fall, which honors their accomplishments and growth as students. Nearly 20% of Horizons at GFA's operating budget is raised from proceeds of The Horizons Open. This annual event attracts golfers and tennis players from near and far to spend the day at the Country Club of Fairfield's picturesque setting along Southport Harbor. The 2012 Horizons Open will be held on Monday, June 11th.
