Medication Authorization Forms
Students who participate on a GFA Voluntary Trip must comply with the State of Connecticut laws regarding the administration of medication by school personnel. All students taking any over-the-counter and/or prescription medications must have written authorization from both the physician and the parent in order for medication to be administered.
Families who have confirmed their child's enrollment on a voluntary trip will hear directly from Kathleen Raby, RN, the school nurse, about medication authorization forms and specific due dates.
Immunizations
It is parents' responsibility to determine any immunizations that are required and/or recommended for travel. GFA is unable to make any specific recommendations. Families should consult their primary care physicians. For additional information, please visit the following websites:

Trip Insurance
It is wise to check with your family’s insurance carrier to understand what their overseas medical coverage, costs, and limitations are and to consider purchasing supplemental trip insurance that includes medical and trip cancellation insurance.
GFA also carries liability insurance for overseas incidents. The International Insurance Program includes Commercial General Liability, Contingent Automobile Liability, Employers Responsibility Coverage, and Accidental Death and Dismemberment & Medical Coverage. The Student Medical limit is $10,000 per person; the AD&D limit is $25,000 per person. The Employee Medical limit is $10,000 per person; the AD&D limit is $100,000 per person.
