Leagues we compete in:
New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC)
Fairchester Athletic Association (FAA)
New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC)
This is a league of all the prep schools (day and boarding) in New England. For athletic purposes it is subdivided geographically into four (4) districts (I - IV). We are District IV which is called the Western New England Prep School Athletic Association (WNEPSAA). It includes all the prep schools in Connecticut, western Massachusetts and eastern New York.
Within WNEPSAA, each sport has an organization of coaches which administers the league for that sport. Currently there are about fifty (50) schools competing in WNEPSAA. Schools are designated S, M or L based on their grade 9-12 student population by gender.
As it is clearly not possible for all the schools to play each other, the Saylor Ranking System is used to determine the rankings of the fifty schools. This system awards points for every game. If a team defeats a school with a larger size designation, it receives more points. The points also factor in the win/loss record of the opponent. For instance, if GFA defeats Williams early in the season, and then Williams wins the rest of its games, GFA will earn more points because Williams will end the season with a very strong W/L record. Accordingly, the rankings are recalculated each week as teams' W/L records change.
At the end of the season, the top ranking school in each size designation will be named the League Champion.
Fairchester Athletic Association (FAA)
This is a league of independent day schools which are located in Fairfield (CT) and Westchester(NY) Counties. Member schools include: Brunswick, GFA, Greenwich Academy, Convent of the Sacred Heart, Hamden Hall, Holy Child, Hopkins, King, Masters School (NY), Rye Country Day School, and St. Luke's.
At the end of the season, the top ranking school will be named the FAA League Champion.
