Squall, original composition by Sam Wappler '10, performed during GFA's 2010 Performing Arts Assembly by a professional string quartet and Sam Wappler on drums. Dr. Rex Cadwallader, Chair of the Performing Arts Department, states "This was Sam's first composition, but demonstrates a truly innate sense of musical drama and style. The piece is rhythmically challenging and interesting, and made excellent use of the sonorities of the stringed instruments. An outstanding result for a first effort, and we can expect great things from Sam in the future."
