GFA offers an exciting and busy schedule of yearly concerts and presentations in classical music, jazz and other popular genres. A wide range of student and guest recitals offers students an enormously varied and continuously challenging program. Additional classes are offered in music theory, electronic music and music history. Upper level students may also propose independent study courses in subjects as diverse as jazz piano, orchestral conducting and composition. With a chamber orchestra, wind ensemble and jazz ensemble, students have the opportunity to improve their technique and knowledge, perform with other musicians, deepen their exposure to musical history and try their hand at both composition and conducting under the tutelage of professionals in the field.
