       Contact  the Counselor if:

  • You are concerned about your child's behavior
  • Your child is experiencing social or academic difficulties
  • You or your child are concerned about  peer relationships
  • A significant event has recently occurred in the life of your child or your family

In keeping with Greens Farms Academy's mission to educate the whole child, the counseling department provides necessary support and resources to students, teachers and parents through classroom lessons, group activities, level-wide initiatives and one-on-one meetings.

Social and emotional development affects academic growth at every age.  A student who learns to cope with the demands of the classroom, focus on a task, work cooperatively, and is confident in his/her ability is more likely to have success--academically and in life.  Each stage of development brings a host of normal issues a child can expect to face.  While these stages do not change from one generation to the next, the cultural and social factors that affect our children certainly do, resulting in potential stressors unique to life in the 21st century. Through one-on-one relationships, classroom lessons and individual smaller groups, GFA seeks to deliver its students into the world with a strong knowledge of self, emotional management, and resiliency.
