GFArt, GFA's student-run arts magazine, shows highlights from the Arts Department in the 2010/2011 school year. Click on the center of the image above to view in full screen. The small white arrow on the right of the image will allow you to flip through the publication.

The arts at GFA are thriving from kindergarten through senior year. Faculty members in both the Performing and Visual Arts are professional artists in their own right, and infuse their teaching with the experience they bring from the professional world. Under the able direction of Dr. Rex Cadwallader, Mr. John Hafey and the arts faculty, students learn basic techniques and are then encouraged to explore fully the world of composition, creativity and production. Upper School students even produce their own art magazine.  By senior year, many engage in independent studies in electronic music, composition, performance and studio art. Each year, GFA students win awards locally, regionally and nationally for their photography, painting, play-writing, musical composition and performances. In the words of one of our recent graduates: "Several of my courses were like college level. My GFA art teacher was great as a teacher, but as an art mentor, she went above and beyond."
